Ms. Christie Smith

Hi Fifth Graders! I have been a teacher in the Melvindale-Northern Allen Park school district for 23 years and have taught third and fifth grades. I am part of a great team of 5th grade teachers and am proud to work with a great group of teachers and staff at Allendale Elementary! It is an honor to work in a wonderful district and to be a part of our Cardinal family.

I grew up in Melvindale and attended Melvindale High School, then went to the Wayne state University for my teaching degree. I completed my first Master’s Degree at Wayne State University and my second at Walden University. I am also continuously learning from my colleagues as well as my students.  After all, learning is a constant process.

When I'm not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family. I have 2 sons, a daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters who are the light of my life. They all keep me very busy. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and my dog. I love golf, tie dye, camping, and watching football.

I look forward to a new and exciting school year! There will be so many opportunities to grow and learn new things together.
