This will be my fourth-year teaching at Allendale Elementary; my third year teaching 3rd grade and my second year teaching 4th grade.  I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with an education and language arts major and mathematics minor from the University of Michigan. While obtaining my degree I was a substitute teacher in many grade levels throughout the downriver area.

When I’m not teaching, I am working towards my masters degree with a focus on English Language Learners. I spend time with my nephews as well as two children that I babysit occasionally.  I also love to read in my spare time. My favorite genre to read is historical fiction.

To assist in the reading standard:
With any book or article your child is reading have them answer questions about the text they're reading and point out the sentence that lead to the answer. So many times the students answer a question without going back to the text to find the answer. With any story, have your student support their answer with text evidence.
