Mr. Lazorka

 

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! It is going to be another year of fun, adventure, and learning!  Please take a second to click the subscribe button under my picture.  This will help us keep in close communication.

 

I am beginning my 23rd year of teaching in the Mel-Nap School District. I received my undergraduate degree from Central Michigan University (Go CHIPS!), and my Masters degree from Wayne State University.  Most importantly, I am married to an amazing 5th grade teacher at Allendale named Mrs. Deanna Lazorka.  I also cannot forget to mention my dog and buddy, Ulysses.

 

If you are wondering why I have a patch on my eye, let me tell you!  When I was 18 years old I was diagnosed with a neurological autoimmune disease called Myasthenia Gravis.  It causes my eyes to close and for me to have double vision.  The patch helps me focus and to not have double vision.  Please feel free to ask me any questions about it, I don't mind sharing.

 

When I am not working, I enjoy watching sports both college and professional.  I also enjoying spending time with my family and friends around a good campfire. Lastly, I am a huge Star Wars fan.  I grew up watching the movies and have decorated my classroom with a Star Wars theme.

 

I am looking forward to meeting all of my students and forming relationships built on trust and respect for one another.  I am also looking forward to working with all of the parents to help ensure that your child is successful this year.  Together, we are going to have an amazing year!
