Mrs. Dana Malesev

Hello! My name is Dana Malesev. I am very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I am dedicated to making this a positive, productive, and terrific school year for all of my students and their families.

To let you know a little about me, this is my twenty eight year of teaching.  I taught fifth grade for 12 years and this is my 16 year teaching second grade. I completed my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and my first master’s degree in Reading & Literacy at Eastern Michigan University. I completed my second master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Concordia University.  I have twin boys that are twenty three years old and a daughter that is almost twenty years old. 

I have several goals that I aim to accomplish each year.  My mission is to prepare my students not only for 3rd grade in all subject areas, but for situations they will encounter throughout life.  I hope we can become partners in your child’s education so this mission can be accomplished.  Just remember that you are most important in your child’s life and they need your help as well as the practice they receive in school.

Your second grader will participate in many new engaging activities that will stimulate their thinking and build upon the basic skills they have previously learned.  They will develop their reading and writing skills and learn to solve more challenging problems.  I will keep you informed of what’s going on in our classroom and hope that you contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I look forward to getting to know you and your child.  I’m sure we’ll have a fun and exciting year!  ☺
