Allendale Elementary School offers several different during the school day and after school clubs that provide our students the opportunity to extend learning beyond the normal classroom structure.

Grades: 4-5
 
Band runs throughout the school year focusing on instrumental music theory and playing.
 
Grades: 2-3

In this playful yoga class designed especially for elementary aged- children, children will learn yoga poses, breathing, and relaxation exercises which cultivate a calm mind, increase strength and flexibility, improve gross and fine motor skills, improve concentration, and give children the tools to manage stress in their daily lives. Games, activities, stories, and music will be incorporated into this fun club. 
 
Dates: The club runs during the months of November, December, January.

The Expect Respect Project was developed to reduce the incidence of bullying and by creating a positive school climate in which inappropriate behaviors are not tolerated and staff members respond consistently to incidents. The project implemented an educational intervention for students and staff members on expecting respect in student relationships and strategies for responding to inappropriate student behaviors.
 
Grades: 4-5
 
Coaches inspire girls to build confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity. Our lessons focus on building social, emotional, and physical skills in girls while encouraging healthy habits for life. Each season ends with a fun non-competitive 5K. This event gives girls a tangible sense of accomplishment and a place to celebrate with their team and family.

Friendly competition is at the heart of challenge, as a team of 10 students engage in research, problem-solving, coding and engineering - building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. Teams also participate in a research project to identify and solve a relevant real-world problem. Students are selected through an application and in-person interview process.

Peer Mediation is a peaceful way for students to solve their problems with the guidance of specially trained 4th and 5th Grade students. It is a process by which two or more students involved in a dispute meet in a private, safe​, and confidential setting to work out their problems with the assistance of trained student mediators ​under the supervision of a School Social Worker.  Peer Mediation is available to all Allendale students.
 
Grade: 5

The School Safety Patrol's job is to remind students of the school safety rules and to guide them in safe arrival, dismissal, and movement through the building. Responsible, respectful and safe fifth graders apply and are assigned safety positions. Safety patrol begins at the end of September through beginning of June with a change over in positions after the second card marking.
 
Grades: 4-5
 
STRIDE is a fun fitness and running program for boys in grades 4 and 5. Boys have the chance to share their thoughts and opinions about various life topics in a safe, encouraging environment that helps them develop character, while building their running endurance to compete in a 5K.
